Toyota Supra MK4 body kit guide: Ridox, Bomex, Top Secret and TRD styles explained

Unpainted white fibreglass Ridox style body kit for the Toyota Supra MK4: front bumper, undertray, side skirts and wide wings on the workshop floor

The Toyota Supra MK4 (JZA80, 1993 to 2002) is the car we make the most parts for: more than 50 of them, from small canards to complete wide body kits. Supra owners also search by style name, so this guide explains what each style means, how the parts fit together and what to check before you order.

A note on names: "Ridox style", "Bomex style" or "Top Secret style" describes the design a part follows. Our parts are made in our own moulds in our UK and EU workshops. We are not affiliated with Ridox, Bomex, Top Secret, TRD, Do-Luck or any other original maker.

The main styles at a glance

  • OEM and TRD style: the factory look, or Toyota's own TRD aero. The quiet choice for a clean, original-looking car. Examples: OEM / TRD style side skirts and the OEM and TRD style roof spoiler.
  • Ridox style: the classic aggressive JZA80 look, with a big-mouth front bumper and an undertray, sharp side skirts and rear spats. Available as a kit or as single parts.
  • Bomex style: a wide-mouth "Bigmouth" front bumper and Bomex rear spats. A little softer than Ridox, and very nineties.
  • Top Secret style: best known for the rear diffuser with its vertical fins.
  • Do-Luck, JDL, Trial and others: side skirts for wide body cars and rear bumpers with built-in diffusers, for a more track-focused build.

You can mix styles. A Ridox style front with a Top Secret style diffuser is a popular combination, for example.

Front: bumpers, lips and splitters

The front end sets the character of the whole car, so start here.

Sides: skirts and steps

Rear: spats, diffusers and wings

Basic kit or wide body?

Our Ridox style body kit comes in two versions:

  • Basic: front bumper with undertray, side skirts and rear spats. It keeps the factory width.
  • Wide: front bumper with undertray, side skirts, front wide wings and rear wide flares.

Wide body parts let you run wider wheels and a more aggressive offset, but they are a bigger job. The Ridox style front wings add 30 mm per side, and the Ridox style rear flares add 50 mm. For more width there are OEM style 40 mm front wings and 50 mm rear quarters. Plan the wheels and the alignment together with the body work.

Originals, replicas and where to buy

Supra owners usually compare three kinds of seller:

Original Japanese parts Parts from a specialist maker (like us) Unbranded marketplace replicas
Made by The original tuner in Japan A workshop with its own moulds Often unknown
Price Highest, often several times more Mid-range Lowest
Lead time Often made to order, weeks to months We dispatch fibreglass in 2 to 10 working days, carbon in 5 to 15 Varies
Import to the UK or EU Shipping from Japan, plus import VAT and possibly duty UK orders ship from our UK workshop, EU orders from our EU workshop Often from outside Europe
Who answers fitment questions A reseller The people who made the part Usually nobody

Original parts carry the name and the collector value. If you want the exact original, buy the original. If you want the look and a good fit at a sensible price and delivery time, a specialist maker is the practical choice. The one thing we would avoid is the anonymous listing with stolen photos and no company behind it.

Before you order: a fitment checklist

  1. Tell us your car's year and market. A few parts differ between early and late cars, and between Japanese, UK and US market cars.
  2. Check what is on the car now. A part designed for the factory bumper will not fit an aftermarket one.
  3. Decide on paint before delivery. Our fibreglass parts come in black or white gelcoat, and carbon comes clear coated. We do not paint parts, so line up a body shop.
  4. Test fit before you drill or paint anything. Returns cover unfitted parts in their original packaging within 30 days.
  5. Pairs are pairs. Where a part has a left and a right side, the price is for the set.

If you are planning a full build, send us your plan and we will tell you which parts work together. You can browse everything we make in the Supra MK4 category.

FAQ

What is the difference between Ridox and Bomex style on a Supra MK4?

Ridox style is the sharper, more aggressive look with a big-mouth bumper, an undertray and angular skirts. Bomex style has a wide "Bigmouth" bumper and rounder spats, a softer nineties look. Both are designs; our parts are made in our own moulds.

Will a Supra MK4 body kit fit both early and late cars?

Most of our Supra parts fit every JZA80, but some differ between early and late cars or between markets. Tell us your year and market before ordering and we will confirm.

What comes in the Ridox style basic and wide body kits?

The basic kit is the front bumper with undertray, side skirts and rear spats. The wide kit swaps the spats for front wide wings and rear wide flares, and keeps the bumper, undertray and skirts.

Does the Top Secret style diffuser come with brackets?

Yes. The main diffuser comes with five fixing brackets. Side extensions and centre fins are optional and can be added on the product page.

Are the parts painted?

No. Fibreglass parts come in black or white gelcoat and carbon parts come clear coated. Paint and fitting are done by your body shop.
